This is in response to a Twitter posted by Chris Cook (@chriscookjourno) as below at 10.32 on 19th June:

Marlon Fossey is set to sign for Rotherham United after a successful short spell with Bolton last season. Wigan showed early interest but Rotherham have won the race for the young wing backs signature. Bolton wanted him back but he chose Championship football.

Some things you see are just depressing but also can be laughable, I just ignore certain people (serial bull ****ters or attention seekers) but it’s hard sometimes to know who is genuine (like on here really)

The way things are going we can’t afford to be fossey any more.

I think you got out of jail there personally. Although Marlon was brilliant for us before his injury half way through his loan, to be 23 and only played professionally 23 times and never in a Fulham first team, just illustrates his injury problems. We had a deal agreed with Fulham and Fossey to come permanently this season but his stellar performances for us obviously prompted him to think he could do better. We’ve now signed a young 18 year old Liverpool rising star instead who’s also played for NI 8 times as well as in the Champions League for Pool as RB and Fossey is now likely to be back in Fulham’s reserves because I can’t see a serious Championship club taking on a player with his injury record. A silly boy for me.
