What a turnaround in our mentality. The 3 match series against New Zealand was great entertainment between two closely matched teams with England showing great character.

India, I initially thought, would knock us back down to earth and a 370 odd lead looked a very tall order but we came through very comfortable again. Superb stuff and a far cry from the sorry, pitiful efforts down under in the winter.

With our new regime, a wave of optimism and positive cricket has come to the fore. A special mention for Bairstow who, I was seriously doubting whether he should've even started the series against New Zealand. Med me eat mi words with some awesome knocks. Root has been his usual classy self.

Shane Warne used to always preach positive attacking cricket. A bet he'd like watching the England test team right now. Tremendous stuff from the lads.
