Welcome to our new Assistant Manager

"Burnley FC are delighted to welcome Craig Bellamy (Assistant Manager)."

Can't say it bothers me, but I think there might be a few sulking at this news.

Craig comes with a bit of baggage, was often in the news a few years back down here in his home City.

We shall wait and see, but I'm particularly underwhelmed.

There was a Belgian, a Welshman, and I hope it does not turn out to be a bad joke...

I never liked him on a football field, he was an obnoxious little sh1t, but I never liked Joey Bsrton until he rocked up playing for us, now Joey can do no wrong for me. Anyway, he's our obnoxious little sh1t now, so good luck to him.

I agree sinkov. Let’s give them a chance. Bellamy always was “difficult”. I was living in Norwich when he came on the scene. Very talented youngster who used to end up locked in the toilets on the team bus to shut him up.

The parallels with Joey Barton are spot on. Bellamy will always court controversy. That does not mean that he lacks talent and ability.

Every member of the first team squad is now playing for a shirt. There are no automatic picks. I am hoping that this will be reflected in the performances.

Indeed Swiss, I think we all concur that Vinni is nobody's fool, he knows the time of day, and we are accepting that the players he is bringing in will, for the most part, do a good job for us. He knows Bellamy well enough by now, by the same token, we have to accept his decision on his assistant.

Anyone who’s walked through the doors at Cardiff City is a no- go for me. Arrogant, too much baggage, too many hangers- on connected with him , and at the centre of an alleged “bullying situation” with academy players at the Cardiff City Stadium, not too long ago.I’m not keen on having him at Turf Moor, but you have to trust VK’s judgement, along with his other back room staff recruitments.

I heard a Belgian journalist saying VK could get a bit too theoretical in the dressingroom, and that the assistant should be someone who could deal with the players personalities. Does that sound like Bellamy??
