    Burnley Youth Club

Burnley Youth club is improving, I have heard its sponsored by the Princes trust in Nelson...

But just wondering when we are going to sign some actual first team men?

Depending on whether we allow any others to leave (but I think we will) we are presently looking in fairly decent shape squad wise.

I reckon we will need around 24 outfield players to battle in a long Championship season, it looks like Vinny realises that too!

"Starting at the back, the goalkeeper - whether that be imminent arrival Bart Verbruggen, Bailey Peacock-Farrell or AN.Other, they will be tasked with building from the back. Short passes into the centre halves, who split and allow one of the sitting midfielders to receive the ball deep, will be the main avenue. The full backs move high and wide to open up the pitch and can expect to see plenty of possession with the six central players having the freedom to interchange."

Yes, at last we're arriving in the modern era, no more lumping it up to 'target men', this is the Pep way, the Klopp way, the City and Liverpool way, the only way in this day and age. I wonder how long it will be before we concede the first goal through fannying about on the edge of our area ? I don't know, I only ask.

I hate watching it sinkov. The tactic scare me $hitless and you have to have truly exceptional players to be able to do it.

Dyche said "We don't fanny about in our own third" or words to that effect, but somehow I can't see Vinny playing "hoofball" - can you mon ami?

"On Friday night there were countless occasions of when the ball could have been delivered in from deep or wide areas but instead went back of inside. Retain and recycle. Move the opponent around and work the spaces."

Hmmm, we'll see, some teams like City move the ball around like this with a purpose, others like Gareth's England move the ball around like this because it seems they haven't a clue wtf else to do with it. Which will we be ?

Anyway, it's looking good, we have a plan, but as Mike Tyson was fond of saying, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

It's Sunday morning mon ami, I'm bored, I'm playing devil's advocate, but to be honest Vinni seems to have the right ideas. There are though 23 other teams in the Championship, most of them know what they're about, and they're not going to sit back and let Vinni's Burnley football them off the park. Let's see what the opposition make of Vinni's philosophy.

I am looking forward to finding out though, this is so much more preferable to another season of hanging on in the PL, proper football in the Championship again, happy days, bring it on.

I must admit to a shred of excitement about the new season mon ami. Perhaps you will take me up on the offer of a free seat for one game?

My heart and shoulders are big enough for the both of you. Perhaps we can invite Sir Outwood of Outwood and make a good day of it?
