    Nathan Collins

    Hi everyone

As you all will know we have recently acquired Nathan Collins for an initial fee of 20.5m.

What are your thoughts on the player leaving? Gutted? Not fussed or good riddance?

Also do you think 20.5m is a decent price?

He's not the finished article yet, but he's getting there and not far off. Every Burnley fan would have loved him to stay and build our defence around him. It was never going to happen, he's too good for the Championship, he was always going to end up back in the PL. The price seems fair enough to me, you've certainly not been ripped off, he could be worth double that in two years time.

Best of luck for the season, like a lot of Burnley fans, I have a lot of time for Wolves, I hope you do well.

Think he could be an incredible talent , the fee is nothing really in a league where massive figures are thrown around, he’s a little green yet but he can play there is no doubt in that , carries the ball really well out of defence , attacks it well at set pieces and is a good reader of the game - important as a centre back , he’s no slouch either covers the ground well - he’s a bargain at the money really ( I notice we have a good sell on clause in his contract ) , it wouldn’t surprise me at all for him to progress again with Wolves and move on again to one of the giants ( no disrespect to wolves in that ).

I suppose a lot depends on your manager and how he wants to play him in a three or a four etc

Either way he won’t let you down.

Cracking player, cracking lad, we could not afford to turn the money down and the Wolves have nicked a bargain.

In agreement with our poster sinkov, I too have a lot of time for the Wolves, a proper club with proper fans.

Good luck for this season we will probably be back to bother you next season!

    Brilliant.

Always thought Burnley very similar to Wolves, proper good old fashioned club.
Same size club, both had success at the same time, both in the doldrums at the same time (remember the Sherpa Van?) but I'll never forgive Burnley for stopping us becoming the first club last century to do the double.

Pipped us to the title on the final day if my memory is correct in '60?

Yes at Maine Road against Manchester City, Stan Cullis's face was a picture he could not believe that we had won the first division title.

The other teams who were good at that time were Ipswich and Tottenham.
