    Fede Fernandez

What's the deal with him? Will we be loaning him out? Not heard/read much about him recently

Aye, it's been a strange one for a while.

Best CB we had, imo, but Lascelles always got the nod.

Lascelles always seem to get preference perhaps because he was captain. I wonder if he would have done had Fernandez been captain, a superior player in everyway.

Very strange over more than one manager/coach.

I'd make Bruno G. the captain in a heartbeat.

Not sure that would be wise given he's still learning English. Trippier has won La Liga, he's an England international and has captained England on a few occasions, he's a leader and fantastic player.......it would be a mistake to give it to anyone else but that's just my opinion

I completely agree with you - I'd simply forgotten that Trippier is the captain as he's been out injured so much. He's the perfect captain for us, you're right.

If he's out a lot again next season though, I'd like to see Bruno step up. You don't have to be British to be the captain in my opinion. In fact, I always cringed a bit when I saw Shelvey with the armband.

You don't have to be British no but i think it's quite important to have a good grasp of English. I think Bruno is doing an English course as if my memory serves me well he posted his certificates on Twitter not long ago for passing the first stages

Perhaps he'll be captain material in 2 or 3 years who knows

Yes a good one to look forward to when Trippier goes into coaching. If he does make captain I'm sure he'll emulate Collo in that respect.

He's currently out with rest of squad in Austria.

Didn't he suffer badly from long covid?

    From Eddie today:

"Fede, as I’ve said many times, is one of the leaders of the group - a very positive influence around the players so I’m delighted he’s here. We hope to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible."

Sounds like he'll have a part to play. Cup games perhaps? I was expecting either him or Lascelles to be moved on this summer. Perhaps we'd sell if a decent offer came in
