MillersMad Matchthread - The Millers v Birmingham

I have read Sky's live match schedule and I've seen that we're not being shown in October. Should we be upset by this? I think that we only have 1 away match v Boro to look forward to which is a bit of a farce. The amount of money that is being given to the bigger clubs to show their matches is vastly unfair on teams like us.
But on merit we are in the Championship with a chance of getting more exposure if we continue the fantastic start to the season but I feel that the only way we'll do that is to keep our best players. We could probably gzt away with selling one of our stars but no mare. We have 5 and a bit days to keep hold of them.

In regards to todays match I know a lot of you will have pencilled in a home win when the fixtures were announced but it woun't be that easy. Birmingham by their own admission are in turmoil off the pitch. A club run at a loss for so many years and a regular change of manager which is the complete opposite to.
The pressure from local sides doing well increases the pressure to do well and compete but the cost looks to have been a high one to pay. Birmingham City should be up near the top of this division on stature alone. We've seen this before though and with clubs of a simular size btu it's not the size of the fan base that wins you things it's how a club is ran and luck.

One thing I've noticed this week are the messages of excitement by Brum fans. It appears that coming to Rotherham is a favourite day out. They comment on how they are able to mingle with Millers, have a laugh and talk sense after that game with us.

    I'm looking forward to it!

Enjoy the match boys and girls.

    COME ON YOU REDS!!!!

They also have to endure arrogant neighbours like we have to.This will be a good yardstick on how we are progressing in to becoming a proper Championship side and the intent to finish a lot higher than previos years.

Call it optimistic but I too foresee a win for us. We have brought in some quality players and our back line is the best I've seen in many a year.
The fight for a place at the back is a great conundrum for Warney to have.

Midfield also has a plethora of players to choose from and it's fair to say, the fight for Barlaser, Lindsay, Wiles, Rathbone to be in the starting middle three is a strong sign that neither can afford to drop their standards.

Up front is where we need strengthening but for now we have to go with Washington,Eaves and Kelly and I'm confident they will score gaols between them.

    2-0 Washington, Barlaser Pen

You have to be optimistic for a win but you never know with this division.Look where Reading are in the table and look what we did to them! We could play fantastic and still lose.

Hopefully it will be our midfield clicking and not the Zulus.
