Any player ratings for the game?

It was a tough listen for most of the first half, but I was delighted my prediction was proved totally wrong!

Anyone who went able to give some player ratings?….not so much based on the end result but how we actually played. I’ve seen mixed reviews but did see that the players worked incredibly hard out of possession.

    Slocombe 8

    Nemane 6
    Chicksen 7
    Brindley 8
    Baldwin 6
    Cameron 7

    Palmer 7
    JOB 7
    Austin 8

    Scott 8
    Langstaff 8

    Bajrami 7
    TAR 5
    Mitchell 8

Solid all round performance, special mention to Slocombe...amazing save and kicking was much better.

Players worked incredibly hard and pressed from the front with Austin, Langstaff & Scott and definitely mixed up the play more going direct into Scott. Austin is everything you'd want in a midfielder, aggression, work rate and skill on the ball in attacking positions.

I also liked the position Bajrami took up in the 2nd half, just in front of the back 3 as he mopped up a lot of balls and was good in possession. Still think he needs to be a bit leaner but has some good qualities and will end up in the team regularly by the end of the season imo.

Slocombe - 8 - Did the bread and butter well, collected crosses etc. The save though at one nil was fantastic and very important.

Brindley - 7 - Did the basics and was solid.

Baldwin - 6 - Looked shaky at times in first half but might have been down to injury. Worries sometimes on the ball but also can tell there is a good defender in there.

Cameron - 7 - Solid and brought the ball well out of defence. Halifax weren't that good going forward so the defence was comfortable most of the game.

Chicksen - 7 - Good run for the first goal.

Nemane - 6 - Did ok but doesn't take his man on and passes back alot. Think it's lack of confidence.

JOB - 5 - Not the best first half with his passing off as well. Improved second half.

Palmer - 6 - Again not the best first half but was always offering for the ball from defence. Again better second half.

Austin - 6 - Never gives up running and presses well. Quite quiet first half but most of midfield were finding it hard.

Scott - 8 - Great goal and worked well upfront with Langstaff. Good assist as well for Langstaff second.

Langstaff - 8 - Man of the match. First goal changed the game and the second was a great, composed finish. A proper striker.

Bajrami - 7 - Came into defensive midfield, looked assured and passed well.

Rowling - 6 - Not the best control but won a couple of corners. Not enough time to make a good assessment.

Mitchell - 7.5 - Came on, pressed very well and great finish for his goal. Was impressed.

Slocombe 8. Caught or punched away crosses the defence couldn't get to, made a crucial great save to keep us a goal up.

Brindley 7. Very solid not too much attacking but we were away so it's harder.

Cameron 6. Brought the ball out well, won his battle with the striker.

Baldwin 5. First half was a 4 in truth, he got brushed off the ball when last man, gave it away a few times in dangerous areas but was better second half. Better strikers would have punished him for his lapses yesterday.

Chicksen 6. Always gives his best and his run made a goal. Solid when defending.

Austin 6.5. Got better the longer it went on, he can run all day and is creative.

JOB. 6.5. First half hour a bit shaky but like the rest got better as the game went on. Still making forward runs in the last ten minutes, gave it everything.

Palmer 6. Pretty quiet game but we'd be lost without him in there.

Nemane 5.5. Not a great game from him, didn't often take on or beat his man.

Scott. 6.5 A goal and assist in his full debut without looking a standout player has to be good.

Langstaff. 9. He changed the game in an instant. We weren't playing particularly well, it was our first real attack and he put us in front. For the second he was a long way out with a fair bit to do and many strikers would have fluffed the chance but I honestly never thought he'd miss. The bloke is lethal in front of goal and if he carries on as he is there'll be some pretty big bids for him at Christmas never mind next summer.

Bejrami 7. He's looked good every time I've seen him play, solid, dependable, steady in defence or holding midfield.

Mitchell 7. Worked hard and scored a good goal. I think confidence is a big part of his game and being in and out and having no time to bed in has perhaps hampered him. He looked pretty emotional when he scored and it's good to see him doing well .

TAR. 5. He's strong and physical but doesn't look a great footballer, he didn't in pre season and was clumsy yesterday but hopefully there's more to come.

We matched Halifax until they ran out of ideas and then we just got on top and it ended up an easy win with moments of class from us.
Nice to see Munakandafa make the bench from the youth set up as well.
