    Hey up Alfie

"Owen Farrell 'the best rugby league player of last 10 years'. He'd be even better than his dad, according to Sam Tomkins, the England Rugby League captain".

"Owen Farrell has been hailed as the “the best rugby league player of the last 10 years” despite not playing a game in the 13-a-side code."

So the England Rugby League captain reckons the best League player of the last 10 years is a Rugby Union player who's never played Rugby League. I wouldn't be knowing, but who am I to argue with Sam anyway, it does beg the question though, just what sort of a tin-pot game is Rugby League when it's best player is a Union player who doesn't even play League ?

    I only ask.

It's now accepted mon ami that the best ever non-playing, never-have-played Rugby Union chaps are far better at Rugby League than those who actually play it.

If it were me or you saying this mon ami, we would be the victims of some shocking personal abuse, but it's the captain of the England RL team saying it. He must know.

I think that Sam Tomkins is far better qualified than I am in assessing the best Rugby League players and I certainly would not argue with anyone who is better qualified than myself because that is just wasting energy.

After today, I don't think there is anywhere in the UK nicer than Brixham, but that's just my own opinion my friend.

I saw the game he's talking about Alf, it was just too one-sided to hold my interest, but many Union games are one-sided, so that can't be why I got bored. He's right as well, League is quicker and the ball is in play for much longer, I accept that, but I'm still bored witless not long into every game of League I watch. And Owen Farrell is still the best League player of the last ten years, even though he's never played the game. Makes you think though, he'd be some fecking player if he ever did give it a go wouldn't he.

If you say so Sinky.. If he's as good as his dad, that would be true. We will never know though..
I will stick to watching the quicker and ball in play longer game ,you keep watching the slow and ball out of play longer game if it makes you happy..

Ball is in play for an average of 62 minutes of the 80 minutes in Rugby League and for an average of 34 minutes of the 80 minutes in Union. The Premier League in football averages 55 minutes out of the 90 minutes.
