Hahaha - Yes I have been. The food is excellent and it is a real experience. You feel like you have gone round their house for tea.

Just been reading the reviews and they range from awful to excellent. You will always get a cross section of views, it's human nature.

Thought I'd post this one so folk can see the set meal that's on offer. Is it worth £35 though?

    Far too expensive!

We have been tonight with friends, 10 of us. The food was lovely, but not exceptional. But the price was! £35 a head for rustic Italian food. We went about a year ago and paid £14. I told my friends how good it was and that it was reasonably priced, I was so embarrassed when the bill came, over double! If we had had steak and prawns I could understand the price, but for pasta and chicken thighs, outrageous! Needless to say we will not return. I am so disappointed i thought it was a gem but it's just a another restaurant getting greedy and over charging. What a shame.

Hi Julie, thank you for your review.

We always appreciate customer feedback and would like to take this opportunity to help clarify any misunderstanding that arisen.

We are a small Trattoria Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday lunchtimes and Friday and Saturday evenings we reserve for private dining. You came previously on Friday 13th April, when a private dining cancellation meant we were having a regular Trattoria based evening.
On your first visit you had Bruschetta and Olives to start, with a pasta main and a dessert for £14

Yesterday evening, when you had reserved the Trattoria exclusively for you and 9 friends you had to start,
    1. Bruschetta made with Altamura Bread imported from Italy, nocciola olives, tomatoes and mozzarella.
    2. This was accompanied by Stuffed Courgettes, Italian Sausages and salami.
    You had 2 pasta courses,
    3. Lasagna,
    4. Spaghetti with Chilli Garlic Olive Oil and Pecorino cheese.
    5. To follow you had slow roasted chicken thighs with rosemary and garlic and garlic and rosemary potatoes.
    6. You also requested a Parmigiana.
    7. For dessert you had Tiramisu.

All this food was freshly prepared by Claudia that day and cooked for you as per the menu you had discussed with her. This was served by your waitress for the evening along with your own wine for which there is no corkage charge. Wages, food, electricity and rent for the evening came to more than the price per person you paid last time, so naturally, yes we charge more than £2 per person per course as this would leave us running at a loss.

I apologise if you feel that £35 per person is too much for this amount of food and this kind of service. We have charged £35 per person at the weekends for Private dining since we opened in May 2017.

I wouldnt say £35:was bad for that lot Brin, she states the food was nice. Tbh its apparently a unique experience, something different from the norm. I'll post how I find it later or tomorrow.

To put tjings into context I paid £40 for Monkfish at one of Gino De Campo's restaurants in Manchester which was at best distinctly average!!

    You'll never please everyone pal.
