    New players next window.

To my mind the important thing about proposed incomers, next window, assuming they will be of the quality of other recent signings, is what they will be replacing.

In other words players being moved on.

We all know that the only major weakness with the squad is the total quality of the bench, whether that is to cover injuries or to make tactical substitutions.

Four or even five new signings similar to the astute previous signings will put us, squad quality, on a par with any team in the division apart from Citeh, and looking at how we handled them earlier in the season, not too far behind them.

If we do qualify for European competition this season then the quality of the bench will determine how far we have come as this will be sorely needed to handle the extra games next season.

Conclusion, assuming we do get 4/5 decent signings who would you think would be first out of the door?

I think we need to upgrade the following over the next 2 or 3 windows:

    Richie
    Murphy
    Fraser
    Dummett
    Gillespie
    Karius
    Lewis

I'd also like to see Wood and Lascelles replaced with younger players with lots of potential. They can both do a job for us this season however

the rumours are we have already signed a massive statement player for January and its being kept quiet until closer to Christmas as the plan is to unveil the player with the details of our new sponsors. A statement signing that will make the world sit up and take notice.

As far as other incomings i think we will go after a rightback as cover for Trippier
a defender to compete with Schar
    a defensive midfielder
    and maybe a wide player

I dont think we will get Maddison in January, Leicester will not want to sell mid season

For outgoings, i think Ritchie, Manquillo, Dummett and maybe Lascelles will leave the club

Possibly but if he hands in a transfer request and makes it clear he wants Champions League football i don't see Leicester keeping him

Yes, the longer Leicester hang on to him the less he becomes worth to them.

aye but Leicester are not free of a relegation fight, only a few points above the bottom three, they will not want to sell their best player for the last half of the season. Its reported they have financial issues, but Maddison's value will drop 15m between Jan and June, that's a drop in the ocean compared to the 150m they will get to stay up.

All good points. As usual it’ll come down to the player. No one wants/can (?) keep an unhappy player on their books.

But, then again, would we want a player who forces a move?

I think the bulk of 2023 FFP transfer fund will be spent in summer,January is not the best time for buying.Besides that at the end of the season we might still be in a Champions League position and can attract better players.

I think, as a matter of urgency, we need cover at RB because if Trippier gets injured, we're in trouble (is Manquillo up to it?)

Going forward, Ritchie and Fraser will be off in the Summer, Dummett won't get another extension and we might lose all the 'keepers apart from Pope.

Lewis will get a loan and, much as I like their 'character;, I'd rather Murphy and Wood moved on.
    Summer
Think, like others, we'll do our business in the Summer but also suspect we'll try for a big name in January.
