Thread: Football, but not as we know it

Football, but not as we know it

First England game I’ve watched in years, Jesus Christ it’s appalling, walking pace football, passing sideways and backwards, Stones and Maguire must have the most touches of anyone, turning off its crap, be a long time before I watch another one

Terrible performance, like Albion under Bruce, subs way way too late.

Back to the old English disease of being scared to lose rather than being excited to try to win.

Lose next week and we are in a knife edge.

Just pathetic how we always put ourselves through the same scenario.

Popped around to our youngest daughters house to watch this load of cr*p. Lovely evening with daughter and son-in-law (even though he is a Vile fan) but the game was a total embarrassment. I thought it was a disgraceful performance only made bearable by the fact that we were with our daughter and had a laugh. Southgate should be ashamed of that load of boll*x.

Southgate hasn’t got a winners mentality.

Success to this wet prick is a pizza add after an abject personal failure.

It’s like having old Mr Grace from “Are You Being Served” at the head of the operation.

I watched most of the first half. What I saw clearly demonstrates (to me) why I have lost interest in following my national team. I didn't want to but what is being presented is such a turn off. It just so depressing.

Southgate seems to be more interested in the players kneeling before the match and wearing rainbow sh!t than coaching them into a decent performance.

After an abject build up period and relegation from the Nations League top echelons, we manage to beat a bunch of sheep eyeball eating goat herders and then play awfully against a nation who couldn’t care less about male “soccer”.

Instead of being able to rest Kane and others against the Welsh, we now leave ourselves open to a kicking session at the hands of our friends from the valleys.

We also leave ourselves wide open to finishing as group runners up and having to play Holland in the next phase.

Tonight stunk of timidity by Southgate, the knowledge that a point would see us through unless Wales hammer us by a ridiculous score.

It’s typical English thinking, the pragmatic no risk ethos rather than putting out foot on the throat of the group.

On top of everything else momentum has now been lost and negativity seeps in.

If I was a senior player I’d be telling the rest of the team to ignore Southgate and just go out and play.

Strange that Foden is good enough for Pep but Southgate prefers Mount.

Ask yourself a question, when Pep leaves City or ANY other top club job comes up so you think Southgate will be on the list of candidates?

    Exactly!
