O/T GP Surgery Practice Sends Out Disturbing Wrong Messages to Patients

On the 23 December 2022 a GP surgery at Askern Medical Practice near Doncaster, sent a disturbing text
message to hundreds of its patients.
The GP surgery texted the patients, telling them they have cancer, instead of wishing them a Merry Christmas,
one patient who has been undergoing tests for lung cancer, was left in tears on the news received, so he tried
to telephone the practice, but the lines were busy.
So the patient & his wife went to the surgery, on arrival they were told the texts were a mistake, & his
results from the tests were negative.
The surgery had sent the same message to hundreds of its patients, which read -

From forwarded letters at CMP, Dr [name] has asked you do a DS1500 for the above patient, diagnosis -
    Aggressive Lung Cancer with Metastases.

Askern Medical Practice have offered sincere apologies to all patients concerned, the messages should have been,
    " A Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year ".

Someone wants sacking, the distress to these patients can not be imagined.
