    Liam Kitching

He has just signed a new three & half year deal which in my eyes is great news, when he first come I was not that enthused but he has slowly won me over, but the really good news is that the club are actively involved with new contract talks with players which in itself is encouraging , lets hope there is some more activity going on behind the scenes .

Seems to have calmed down a little of late and he's a better play for it .

Also there's more composure from him when he's further up the pitch than earlier in the season .

    Duff's defiantly improved him .

To be fair Animal Duff is having a major influence on all our defensive play, its not been a magic wand job more a gradual improvement which of course is born about by the goals conceded column , but just for balance we are a third division club with third division players & there is always a mistake or two at this level so we are never going to be the finished article but there has definitely been a big improvement .

Wi art being a doom monger these new contracts mean bugga all to me these days. It's not good news like it once was. A good example is Adam Hammill when he signed after Wembley- we were all buzzing after he signed on and we could see a future for the player and the club.

These days a contract extension is to try and safeguard the club and get the largest price possible for when an offer comes in for a Barnsley player. There's no building a team here within the moneyball system that the club operates so don't let a long term contract fool you.

As for Liam Kitching, he's maturing well and becoming very consistent. He's solid and reliable defensively. I like his purposeful forays forward and his long diagonal passes. He's not technically blessed but knows his capabilities and sticks to what he's good at. Keep it up lad

Nice to see we’re at least looking at the future, personally I love kitchen’s gusto & bravery but he’s a blunt instrument which is relatively effective in league 1 but that’s his ceiling imo

pretty much spot on Pass, the lad is at best a liability , he has progressed and is a key cog in the team , if he could cut out the silly bookings he could become a real crowd favourite , but we all know as you have pointed out , contracts mean nothing to the fan's , it's more to do with sale's and raking money in for this useless board we currently have ,

What is the alternative then ? Do we not bother with contracts & just let players move at their will for free ? surely you have to try & look after the clubs interests otherwise we might as well put the padlocks on the gates & call it a day . I do not think it is a case of raking in money for the sake of it , whether we like it or not it is a business & we need cash to survive , plus how do we compete in the transfer market ? as fans we expect players to be brought into the club & we can only do that by trading .
