9 games - No goals against from open play.

I’d love to know what the actual record is in football in general and for Albion in this regard if anyone knows?

This actually equates to almost 15 hours of playing time if you include the fact that the goals scored against us by Sheff Utd were only 23 minutes into Carlos’s first match.

This is an incredible feat and it’s not getting enough coverage or credit.

I was once a very average part of a very mean Sunday league back four, we had a great record one season but even at our own level, 15 hours of open play without conceding was beyond comprehension.

90 minutes caused you to feel drained on most occasions to keep a clean sheet.

We will probably never know another run of wins and clean sheets like this again.

Carlos and his staff and every member of the playing squad should be really proud of this achievement.

I noted that in the last moments against Reading, Lucas Joao pulled the trigger inside the area and one of our lads stretched every sinew to get a toe on the shot with deflected it over the bar......it may have been Yok?

Whoever it was, it was magnificent defending.

Before yesterdays game the Talksport reporter said he'd heard from backroom staff at the Hawthorns that before every match Corberan spent 15 minutes with every player making clear exactly what was required from them for that game.If true incredible attention to detail and probably a big part of why so few goals conceded.

Perhaps I'll change my name to 9games0goals2pens

Steve Bruce team talk to the whole squad "We'll try doing this today and if it doesn't work we'll try something else - If that doesn't work we'll go back to plan A !!"

Credit due as well to Alex Palmer, he’s saved several what looked to be certain goals. I don’t want to knock David Button but Palmer looks different class, what was it that Steve Bruce couldn’t see?

Yeah Palmer looks a great keeper. O'Shea has been quality in recent weeks as well. He doesn't get the credit deserved but he's been the captain throughout this great run.
