    Luton Away

Tickets sold out in under 15 minutes. The full allocation of 1032 dropped to 900 available for 'Fans' with the rest going to players for their families and 'other' corporate connections. Managed to get 2 but it was a close call.

I had to go to the ASDA with the wife, when I got back BOOM! they had all gone.

Amazing support really. Do we get a big enough allocation? I don’t know how these things work but I would have thought it would be in everyone’s interests to sell as many tickets as possible. Maximise revenue.

I think the away allocation is based on the space available and advice from local police etc. I think Fulham has the lowest capacity ground in the Championship so full away allocation is 1032. Once you deduct tickets made available to the squad for their families it only left 900 for general sale.

I'm pretty certain in the Championship the minimum allocation to be offered to the away team is 10% of the maximum capacity but 15% is normal.

After that the local bizzies start getting nervous but like you say S_c money talks, and I have seen those numbers stretched quite dramatically over the years.

Another thing in our favour is we have no history of silly travelling hooligans. On the contrary most away teams love us coming because the pie sales go through the roof!

I know that Burnley at one time had not only the Suicide Squad but also the even more feared Burnley Youth. I do recall once meeting some self-proclaimed members of the Suicide Squad on an away trip to Fratton Park. They found it highly amusing that I was a taxman and what punishment I might have expected were I not a Burnley fan. I think they were joking but I couldn’t be quite sure. I don’t think the Squad or Burnley Youth are active these days and as BT rightly says our passionate away support is a big plus.
