    Red card punishments too harsh?

    I think red card punishments are too harsh and Pope's is a prime example...

    Not only does he get punished in the Liverpool game itself, effectively ending our chances of a comeback,
    but he also misses a cup final, Man City and Wolves games. All for a handball!

    3 games out for Bruno G and Casimero were harsh too. Especially Casimero's.

    I'm not a fan of cumulative yellow cards ending in suspensions either.

    I think the suspensions system needs looking at.

    What do you reckon? Room for improvement? Any ideas?

    Pope is only banned for one game isn't he? I thought it it was endangering an opponent and a straight red then its a 3 game ban or something like that

    I'm not sure-I think a straight red might automatically be 3 games.

    Yep, I agree to an extent although I guess, if there was no sanction other than being sent off for the remainder of the game, there'd be nothing to stop a player waiting until near the end of a game before taking someone out, knowing they'd only miss a few minutes.

    There has to be some deterrent, I suppose.

    The Athletic say it's just a 1 game ban:

    Red Card means different suspension for different offences…
    Professional foul = 1 game ban
    Dissent = 2 game ban
    Violent/reckless conduct = 3 game ban
