    Match Ratings vs Eastleigh

Haven't seen one of these is ages so I thought I would give my 2 cents worth...

Brooks... 6 had very little to do, distribution was decent
Rawlinson..7.. kept things simple, always composed on the ball, gives it his all
Baldwin..6. was having a decent game, adds a lot of composure to the back 3, off injured once again which is a huge concern
Palmer..8 what a fantastic player, tried hard first half and was excellent in the second, should be captain imo
Nemane..7.5 one of the only bright spots in the first half, had the beating of his man time and time again
Jones.. 7 not as dynamic as usual, looked a bit off the pace at times tonight, possibly needed a rest but his quality is there for all to see
Bostock.. 6.5 kept it simple without doing much of note, lovely passer of the ball but didn't get involved enough tonight
Rodrigues..9.5 first half looked so frustrated by those around him and second half grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck..absolutely unplayable and apart from the penalty miss was imperious.. MOTM easily
Chicksen... 7 quite game from one of our more consistent players, got forward a few times and always gives his all
Langstaff.. 7.5..had 3/4 excellent chances and at least took one of them, kept their back line on alert all game, 36 goals at this point in the season is simply ridiculous
Lemonheigh-Evans.. 6 I will prob get roasted for this but I just do not rate this guy, ok he wins a few headers but he looks a few yards off the pace ever since we signed him...I was desperate for him to be hooked at half time but credit to him for having a much better second half

Austin... 7.5.. the energizer bunny was at it again, should of started ahead of Evans but had his usual excellent cameo appearance
Vincent.. 7.5 put his head in straight away and took a nice whack for his troubles, reinvigorated since his return, very valuable player for the run in
Badger.. 7.. steady and reliable when he came on, didn't have a terrible amount to do but did what he had to pretty easily.

LW.. Deserves a medal for changing the teams attitude in that second half, his interviews are always on point, sounds like he simply loves being at Notts... cracking manager 👌

not much to disagree with there.

Jones had 2 men on him for most of the first half and was let down by some questionable distribution from Brooks. Evans had some nice touches but looks quite a long way off the pace for me, quite possibly low on confidence. Rodders something else.

We're still to understand what type of player CLE is. I like his slightly more aggressive approach to his game as we don't currently have that in our forward line with Scott missing. Also worth remembering he's not played a lot of football this season, he's played just 40 minutes of football at Stockport since the turn of the year and not played a full 90 minutes since 18th October. Imo he will be a key player in our run in

    Good ratings.
I would have marked Bostock slightly higher as I thought he had a decent first half.
Evans grew into the game. The guy clearly isn’t match sharp so I’m glad he got 90 minutes.

Also agree with the OP ratings. Tho I'd probably give Brooks a 7 because his distribution was so good. First time I've seen him play and I was really impressed by him. Think he might be first choice on his own merit next season. Might even just keep the shirt from now onwards...

Once he stopped going long to Jones all the time it was much better but it wasn't flash for quite a while. But agree that he looks an excellent prospect to make that shirt his own next season possibly sooner. Although on balance I think Sam will be straight back in when fit.

Ruben MOM by some distance, possibly the best I've seen him play.

Regarding Brooks, I thought his use of the ball was excellent. It's clearly what he was told to do and while some balls went into touch, some of them breached their back line and put us in on goal. I think what he does is largely dictated by the tactics of the opposition, and I think he's done the tippy-tappy in the box and the longer ball pretty well so far. I really like the look of him, but the only real saves he's been asked to make so far have been from the penalty spot!

Mostly agree, but I thought Evans was really good in the second half. Grew into the game massively.

I thought the same. In the first half we offered next to nothing from our left side, Chicksen and Jones were below par and CLE was detached. A lot better in the second, there was much more threat especially when Austin came on. Good that CLE got 90 minutes, he can play a variety of roles and I think he can be a big asset in our last few games.
