Romared Match Thoughts Burton Albion v Barnsley

A massive weekend ahead starting at Burton on Friday afternoon with Shrewsbury at Oakwell on Bank Holiday Monday .

I can't really make a solid case for anything less than 6 points from the long weekend ahead .

Whatever happens elsewhere isn't anything we can control but I have a suspicion that if we are sitting on 81 points on Monday evening with 6 games remaining we will have made more progress in chasing down the three clubs above us .

If we are going to strike the top two then it goes without saying we aren't going to do it dropping points in the next couple of games .

    Interesting weekend ahead .

Ahmad has organised a pre-match hospitality drinks event at a local brewery. All welcome. I'm sure it will go well.

Duff needs two big results on Friday and Monday. It starts to get more and more difficult as the games run out. Making up a five points gap over six games is a lot more difficult than making up five points over eight games.

Huge games for the top 9 teams this weekend.

8 of the clubs still with a chance of promotion playing away on Friday including Wycombe who are at Ipswich.

    Pressure mounting big time.

    3 points please Lads.

It would be criminal though if we were to beat Burton away, and then fail to beat Shrewsbury at home!.
Normally we'd like 4+ points at Easter, but to be honest we really do need 6+ points this time.
So no pressure ehh Mr Duff. 😊

Burton are a tougher proposition than when we laiked em earlier in the season. Think we'll struggle a bit to be honest. Hope I'm wrong

Arseoyles being self chewed to red raw shreds as we speak.

You can get a cream for it but the arse keeps on chewing itself.

They are fighting to stay up Pass, so no it won't be easy for us. Would we take a point ?, well yes I would if the top 2 was out of the question.
Have we only ever won there once, that 2-4 win on Halloween night in '17 ?. 💀

We haven't got the best record at their place but that's history. We can only go on what is happening now this season. Since we played Burton at Oakwell just before Christmas they've played 7 games at home winning 4, drawn 1, lost 2.

They've actually pulled themselves away from the drop zone and are currently 7 points clear of the bottom 4 with games in hand on the teams below them. I thought they were doomed at Christmas after we beat them to be honest. Credit to him for turning their fortunes around. This is a banana skin and taking our recent away performances into account, to come away with 3 points tomorrow would be great imo.

Actually I hadn't noticed that they are that far ahead of the drop zone now, that surprises me.
And its easy to forget as well that they went up in the top 2 with Wigan in season '15-16, and we had to win the Play offs.
They can be a handy team admittedly, but that was in the days of Nigel Clough managing them.
