    Villa Toon

When I first saw the result I thought Nick must have had a "mare" but without him it could have been 6-0. Just when you thought Newcastle were flying and Utd were about to fade due to injuries .. Watch this space.

ps Why wasn't Shearer on MOTD?

Newcastle flatter to deceive. Although the league table doesn’t lie, I don’t think they are as good as what Shearer and Co think they are. Results like todays defeat at Aston Villa prove my point.

Think that’s true Mal , they are over achieving at the minute but one things for sure if it don’t improve , players will be changing and so will managers until it does - the bottomless pit of money will be opened and sharpish - regardless of FFP

Incidentally Villa look a very decent efficient side under Emery

Just what I was thinking Army, was this Toon on an off-day, or were they blown away by a very good Villa team ?

Villa are playing well under Emery. He was much maligned at Arsenal. He seems to have found the key to Watkins, who scored for fun at Brentford. From what I have read, it was Villa that played well, giving the likes of Trippier and Schär a torrid time.
