Yep. The gap between EFL and NL could start to get bigger in years to come. Not immediately, but still.

I think the TV companies need to be very careful about the huge inflation in these deals. The subscription fee increases from Sky and Virgin Media in recent years have been ridiculous, and there will be a breaking point even for the most dedicated football watchers. Of course, if you phone up and threaten to leave then they tend to knock large amounts off your bill, but the money still has to come from somewhere. Is a re-run of the ITV Digital debacle on the horizon?

They haven’t gone up as much as you think. Sky sports has generally always been around 30-35pm. Problem with sky and Virgin is the sun products that have to be purchased alongside them.
Companies like Sky and Virgin make huge profits from English football, globally.

My first thought was 'great, let's get promoted and make sure we get a share of that', and I suppose that is true, as it will widen the gap between NL and EFL quite a lot.

But for EFL clubs is it really such great news? I presume the 2000 or so players good enough to play in thr EFL are, with some exceptions, already playing there.

With the post-Brexit rules making it almost impossible to sign foreign players who don't have international caps, which I would think rules out everyone bar the Championship teams and perhaps a few teams from the top of L1, won't this just mean business as usual with a massive increase in player wages and agents fees?
