Not sharing the Joy Poggy, I’d have loved to see them relegated. Can’t criticise the result today because we also had a “Nod and a wink” result there a few years back… find it very strange how three of his former clubs all lost to a team who before his arrival were woefully inept.
Its rumoured he was on a million pounds him and his back room staff to keep them up…….. just imagine how much he could command in January next season to do it somewhere else.

    Well done Neil Warnock.

A number of us said when Huddersfield brought him in as a firefighter that they couldn't have made a better choice.

Barnsley FC knew better of course and brought in Poya Asbaghi in similar relegation threatened circumstances to Huddersfield. Warnock had strongly hinted to the club that he was available and would fancy the job for a few months.

I watched the second heyf on tele and have to say Sheff Utd looked "off the pace" over-hit passes, poor corners, no runners, no tackling.

Delighted to see Reading in the Third Division. Reading-v-Stevenage has a nice feel about it.

    Got nothing against Hudders.
They don’t seem to attract that much support from the Barnsley District.

As for Schopp and Asbaghi - under the circumstances of last season I don’t blame them all that much regarding the relegation.
They were both puppets dancing to the tune of the chairman.

Conway openly admitted that he chose the players that played - and the present CEO let the cat of the bag when he said the tactics had been changed from the style Ismael used so that the players would attract more attention from other clubs to buy them.

Schopp and Asbaghi didn’t suddenly become poor coaches when they walked through the door at Barnsley. They both have good track records - but they didn’t stand a chance at Barnsley.

    As for Warnock.
Can you imagine Conway and Warnock in the same room.
Warnock would have been sacked or he would have resigned within a week.

    .
I'm the last person to defend The Arseoyle but i seem to recall he said something along the lines of "the season cannot be regarded a success because we did not attract bids for our players".

Acting CEO Conway did manage to dispatch Solbauer, Chaplin and Mowatt plus several outgoing loans and then had his trousers pulled down with Oulare and Iseka. I seem to recall you raving over what Oulare would bring Nudge.

They were both shocking coaches who were way out of their depth & I although I do not hold them responsible for the mess we ended up in but they were getting paid to do a job, a job which they both proved to be totally incompetent at , should we have replaced Schopp with Warnock we might still have gone down but I can guarantee he would have given it his best shot & he would have had the backing of the fans but alas we will never know .

    Warnock = Huddersfield the Winners.

Schopp & Asbaghi = Barnsley the Losers.

Not celebrating it at all - far from it.

    Just stating the facts.

We should have gone for him. No doubt. He’s not my cup of tea, and they most certainly aren’t. But I wonder if him keeping us up would have provoked a “right, let’s invest” mindset in our board, or just more of the same, making his efforts worthless.
Time will tell what the dog botherers philosophy with new US owners is next season
