he only joined the Lions last year so if you have paid £7 mill for a goalkeeper for Zian you would have to double that. What I can't understand is why you would want him as you won the League last season at a doddle, surely you have enough good players. Besides Gary Rowett is building a side to get in the playoffs this season. But good luck in the Premier I believe you will hold your own.
Kompany obviously thinks he has the next step in him Claw - tbh I thought VK would be back in Belgium and Holland looking anything in this country costs more money anyway.
With respect we won the league but the Premiership is a different animal we will need to strengthen to survive I believe.
Good luck next year anyway
It's the four loan players, all key players, that are the problem Claw, it seemed a good idea at the time, doesn't seem so clever now. It will cost us around £50 million to replace them, that's £50 million we haven't got just to stand still. We've just taken out another loan, and no bloody wonder.
Understood Sincov, but what about the Premier cash coming your way thought you would be rolling in it. If VK is looking at championship strikers what about Goyceres from Coventry who is an even better striker, I could understand that. We have signed Scottish International Kevin Nesbit, surprised your scouts missed him, excellent striker. Good value at £2.2 mill.
The club is loaded with debt due to the leveraged buy out Claw. The parachute money went to paying one loan off, this next one is secured against the ground, training centre and TV money. No one knows for sure just how much Vinni will have to spend but Gyorkes is beyond our means that's for sure. If we were rolling in it, we wouldn't be raiding Millwall and WBA, with all due respect to those two clubs, for their better players would we.
We're a Jekyll and Hyde club right now, on the field, everything is going well, off field it's a can of worms, no one knows how much we owe, nor when it's due to be repaid. And to be fair, as long as Vinni gets his transfer budget I doubt many fans give a FF how much we owe.
There is a long way to go in the transfer window. Although there will always be speculation, I think we will be seeing recruitment of young talent at reasonable cost. Everyone talks about the lad at Coventry, but has he proved himself at PL level?
Why spend £23+million on someone unproven if we can get someone unproven for half that amount?
English football is over-hyped in my opinion and there are talented players in other leagues around the world, for example, Ekdal. Why pay ridiculously over -inflated transfer fees for questionable talent?
Through VK and the team we appear to have string links with the wider picture. That is where I expect to see recruitment.
As regards the finances, I know that sinkov has a dim view of the LBO and where we are as a club. We won’t know for a long time. However, there is nothing wrong with borrowing per se as long as it is serviceable. I don’t doubt ALK’s acumen in that area.
One of the ways to lower the cost is by granting security over assets. An unsecured loan, even if possible, would carry a far higher interest rate. I suspect that the debt was re-negotiated on the basis of our being in the Championship. Provided that we do not go mad, it will be even more serviceable with us in the PL.
Let’s not forget the messages coming out of the club - a project, not a finished product, and the long term financial future of the club.
I like the model Swiss, I think it could work, especially on the evidence so far, we are finding good young players cheap, with the potential to sell on at a profit. Off field I agree, I am not a happy bunny at all. the borrowing may well be servicable, especially once we start churning players over at a profit. Nevertheless, we had six years in the PL without incurring any debt at all, no loans, no loans to service, we had money in the bank, loads of it. However much you dress it up as manageable, it's an incontrovertible fact that we are much worse off now financially than before the LBO.

Garlick's refusal to recruit properly and the shackles he put on SD were the reason our time in the EPL came to an end. The current owners for me are a breath of fresh air.
Mon ami do your own ABC of "New Rich Owners" who turned out to be pot-less, at lease ALK told us the business model they would pursue when they took Burnley Football Club on.
I'll go first...
