    Livramento

Looks like he’s turned us down, wants guaranteed time in the team which he’s not gonna get. Probably better to stay where he is, and why do we need him. I thought Harrison Ashby was brought in to understudy Tripps, but he’s never had a game? Something not right maybe? Personally, a left back is more urgent for me, Kieran Tierney, get him in,plus a winger.

Aye, left back would seem to be a priority.

Burn was part of the best defence most of us have ever seen but he was benning to creak at the seams a wee bit towards the end of the season and you'd think teams might exploit our left side a bit more next season.

Someone on the right instead of Miggy/Murphy is a priority imo.

Apperently Chelsea want to use their buy-back clause as well.

Then loan him back to Saints next season.

This is such a non-story for me. Doesn't make sense. We've got 4 right backs.

Manquillo & krafth need to go for any if this to make sense. Chelsea qre in the box seat. Tino will cost us £25-30m - waste of money when we need another creative cmf a champions league quality right winger & a 3rd striker.

Whilst I also agree a left back would be sweet. The disrespect Matt Targett is getting thrown at him is unreal!

The dude is class 7-8 out of 10 every match. Never puts a foot wrong when fit and playing regularly.

Someone like Sosa would be an excellent addition but signing a 5th right back whos just recovered from a season long major injury for £25m smells like paper talk.

Agreed with all of that, especially the Targett bit. He’s never let us down, doesn’t deserve the criticism on here, especially when he’s never played!

Agree, and agree with Raga’s ‘consistent 7/8 out of 10’… which was at a time we really needed players to roll their sleeves up and keep us in the Prem… he was part of the team that completely smashed Arsenal 2-0 last game of the 21/22 season FFS 😉

Thing is, and I don’t get it… but Howe has only ever played him when he had no choice really, and if we remember that last summer we signed him really late in the window… it was like he was signed because other options didn’t work and he was Howe’s last choice to bring in… or at least that’s how I remember it.

When it comes to right back, we have Ashby who I thought we would be giving game time to this year to season… is he another that we have brought in but now we seem to not be sure about them? He had a good rep at West Ham for a young player.

I guess neither is the biggest priority in this transfer window, and we have 4 competitions next season so we will need second choice players.

On another note… while I think BDB would run through walls for us, literally 😉, I do really worry about how he has lost his cool a good few times… he’s been very lucky that the Prem is forgiving in terms of yellow/red cards at times…he will NOT get the same latitude off Champions League referees… any CL manager of opposing clubs worth their salt will have identified this, and he’ll be targeted with clever fouls and tactics… if he can’t keep his cool he’ll end up with a 3 game ban in Europe next season if he remains our first choice player.

Yeah man totally agree here. It is clear we need a UCL quality player to compete with Targett allow BDB to play the foil to Botman and challenge him for the left CB position.

However Targett is a top Premier League professional.

The only thing about Targett could be his seemingly lack of pace, which Eddie’s worries about,I don’t know like, I mean Lewis is another one who he doesn’t fancy, he’s got pace, and cost £15 million ffs. Get Tierney in and sell Lewis, that would be my solution.
