    Newcastle United v CHelsea

Defensively not the most awesome. Chelsea look a much much better outfit this season under Poch.
We've dominated the ball for large parts of the 1st half and Miggy's goal was mint!

    2nd half to come.

Guess I'm the only one up watching it.

Ya set o plastic fans, glory supporting ex-mackem turncoats gonna get lynched for that comment

    COME AT ME BRO! hahahaha

I'm watching it, am a tad tired though.

Reckon Miley has played himself into the reckoning with the way he has played in this and the previous game. He's looked very much at home

Credit to Eddie & the Mad Dog for really giving these young lads the confidence to truly step up into first team reconning.

It's quite remarkable to see! long may it continue

Four words: Nick Pope is back!

I thought their goal was against the run of play - we started well then faded a bit after their goal.
My biggest concern is our continued lack of threat in the attacking third (altho’ these are only friendlies). There were some great, pacey and driving runs from Isak and the young lads: Miley, Murphy, Ashby and Turner-Cooke didn’t look out of place.
Tonali getting the minutes in and looking stronger and tougher compared to the last game.

Some good saves from Pope, especially the last one. Showing no ill effects from his surgery.

The lad Murphy who came on for Schar and played left back also looked decent though to be fair he wasn't tested overly much.

Miley probably our best player on the night followed by Gordon and then Miggy. Isak quiet overall but showed some flashes of brilliance - completely did James at one point.

On another note - Chelsea have a player called Malo Gusto which I had a chuckle at, as it translates in Italian to Bad Taste (Canny film mind)

Class performance from players I'd didn't have any expectations of. I'm delightedly surprised by the way the lads have played.

Watched most of it, and thought GORDON played his best game thus far, was weaving around Chelsea players like they were statues, and laying off some great passes! This guy is going to be a match winner at some point for us this season.

Didn't stay up so cheers for the observations, lads. In terms of attacking threat, I really hope we buy someone for our right side otherwise we'll become too predictable.

Lewis Miley also sounds very promising. More game time for Tonali is good, too.

Funny you should say that. During the game I thought we should be offering more threat down the left. Trippier had a great game, especially the first half but we still offer little attacking threat from our left back position. I think LB is now our new priority position for the next signing.

I guess the trick is to have options on both the left and the right. It feels wrong having a go at Burn, given that he was part of the league's best (almost?) defence but the problem with him is more about what he doesn't do than about what he does and that is obviously his lack of attacking threat.

    Did Barnes play last night?
