    Andros Townsend situation

Apologies if this has already been covered ,but I don’t know the facts behind us not signing him. Was listening to Talk Sport yesterday and he was on there, explaining that he did well when he played in several games for us on tour, but at the last minute , we decided not to sign him.
Was it because we had younger , better, long term players lined up ?
Can someone please give me the facts behind his brief stay at the club ?

According to Vinni we made him a conditional contract offer, before it was finalised the injury situation cleared up and some potential signings had become closer, so the offer was withdrawn.

Oh yes indeed mon ami, a very nice man, a gentleman, but he has a job to do and he'll do it, no matter who it upsets, he doesn't take prisoners our Vinni.

if you can toss Townsend aside you must have faith in your squad. I just hope we don't play against the team that takes andros.

I thought it was a daft move in the first place. We have Redmond for our "Golden Oldie", but he talked some serious sense on TV last night. A lovely lad I'm sure but did he really fit into our model business wise?

I don’t think we can complain too much about recruitment this summer (and not yet over). There is a limit on what we can spend and on whom we spend it. I trust VK’s judgment that, as good as AT is (or has been) the money could be better spent elsewhere.
