    FAO Mick

    Hi, Mick can I pick you brains.
    My Brother in law who had the accident at work ,2 years ago February gone.
    For the Ist 2 years he had his full wages of the works insurers,since February he has been on statuary sick pay.
    He has no found out the ISt 2 years his gaffa didn't pay any of his stamp. Should he of.

    I’m not 100% sure on this Lloyd but me gut feeling is that his employer should’ve been paying the National Insurance contributions.

    A quick call to ACAS would get him the answer I believe, they’re very good on help and advice even if you’re not a union member.

    Thanks Mick, His SSP is up in a couple of weeks and he has been turned down for ESA he phoned them up and they said he didn't have enough stamps.
    He told them he had been in in continuous employment ,with the same employer since leaving school, they checked his record and he has 45 years of the NI stamps, yet this counts for nothing because of no stamps for the last 2 years.
    The system and his works stinks and yet his Gaffa had a huge Covid grant to preserve jobs and only shut down for 10 days
