No idea how few they've sold but there's still 4034 "home" seats unsold in the East Stand. Looking like we'll just beat the 3000 odd crowd that watched the City U21 game in this competition last season when Borges tore us a new one. I'm expecting 6 or 7 changes from the side that started against Pompey. They are likely to have several changes themselves. I'm expecting little quality this evening so I can only end up being pleasantly surprised.

Honestly got no interest in this competition. Just a nuisance. I’d take the opportunity of giving Darren Robinson a run out. From what, admittedly little, I’ve seen he has great potential, but what really matters is Saturday. For what it’s worth...2-1.

Wonder why the cat isn't in the squad?

2-0 it was. Happy enough with a scratch side.
Wildsmith kept us in it with a save at 0-0
    Cash has his passing back
Bradley looked uncertain at the start but went on to have a good game. That'll do his confidence the world of good.
Wilson was lively going forward, solid in defence
Elder was busy but not yet "quite there"
Smith had his best game of the season
Embleton looked average. Not knocking him, he needs time.
Fornah looks a very good player. He needs to stop collecting unnecessary cards
    Collins was busy, great assist
Barks was good and scored a great goal
    Sibs idem ditto

The injury returnees looked good but they aren't on the top of their game yet. Offers perspective going forward and PW will have the kind of headache he likes. A team that doesn't pick itself. Half those missing from Saturday may well find themselves on the bench for Carlisle.

Happy enough but we still have a way to go

Agreed, a useful run out for those needing match fitness, we will get there.

Bird back in training next week. Hourihane back in 2 weeks. Thommo still several weeks out. JJ 3 to 4 weeks away.

If we play the way we did 2nd half, most fans will be happy.
