Good to see the build up appearing on Official Website yesterday evening but it was just a rehash of old/ known news with no fresh stuff.

Would be good to read an interview/ comment from a coach/ player to have a semblance of equal coverage to the Men's Team.

But small steps are an achievement.

Great Breaking News on Official Site.

Barnsley FC is proud to join the "We're Onside" movement, a network of professionals supporting women in football.

Eleanor Dobson, BFC Club Secretary and "EDI Lead" ( the on trend title of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer) says--

"Here at Oakwell we believe that the women's game should be just as valued and celebrated as the men's game"

Hear, Hear, Eleanor. A perfect platform for the BFC Media Dept to give the BFC women's matches equal coverage to the men's game on the Official Website, starting with the Harrogate game on Sunday and all future games.
I know Eleanor, as EDI Lead, will keep a careful eye on this.

Whist I am sure that every Barnsley fan would wish the ladies team well I am not sure how much interest there is amongst the rank & file , ladies football does not do it for me full stop & no amount of publicity or coverage from the club will change that , having said that I might be in a minority & the womans game might take off big time down at the well but the club can bang the drum as loud as they can but it will not make a jot of difference to me . Note ; my opinion is not a ***ist thing, for example I love watching ladies cricket but its just football with me I cannot take to it at all .

I'm sure Eleanor as EDI Lead will respect your views Shads. Your opinion should be just "as valued " as any other.

One way of judging the development of the women's game at Oakwell would be attendances. With attendance at the Training Ground being free I don't know if a count is made of those entering the area.

    100% same for me Shads

Not watched a ball kicked at Ladies footy world cup but do occasionally watch the Ladies performing at cricket.

Enjoy watching Ladies Beach volleyball also for some strange reason .....

You can keep your ladies gymnastics, athletics, swimming etc it is Women's Curling that does it for me. Eve Muirhead was a legend getting that stone to land on the button.

Very poor "update" on Women's game put on Official Website this Saturday morning. Just a repeat of the information from Wednesday. There is no way the Men's match would have such scant coverage.

As EDI Lead Eleanor get some arse kicked in that Media Dept. Demand better, more equal, coverage.

Now that we have such a strong statement of the values of Barnsley FC regarding the Women's Team from the club's EDI Lead I will leave the prompting for more equal coverage to Eleanor and JAQ and observe from afar, safe in the knowledge that things will change.

Good luck Jess and the team this season.

It looks at best a box ticking exercise , finance is understandable , lack of media coverage is not .

I'm not suggesting in your face and ramming it down our throats , however this is pretty thin gruel .
