    The Table…

Yes, I know the saying, you don’t win anything in September, but…
Took a quick look after last nights fantastic result…
Three up automatically? And then 1 playoff place as well? Are the Beeb and sky Sports websites wrong?
Have we been out that long and I’ve suddenly forgotten it’s 3 up auto? Since when?

We know there will be dips, but hopefully there will be enough highs as well as we progress this season.
This team has enough character imo to go up again if 4 slots are available.

In every game we have our dodgy periods, but if we take last night, they were all over us in that period and we just zipped it down field and scored and took all the wind out of their sails. Shows we have the character inbuilt now imo and long may it continue.

As a bit of fun, it's nice to see us 6 pts clear of the play-off cut-off.

If it helps, we were promoted in 1960 from the 4th division alongside Walsall, Torquay and Watford. The payoffs started in 1987 for the fourth spot, so from then only 3 up automatic. (The same year was when automatic relegation to the Conference was brought in.)

Looking at recent L2 seasons, play-offs has needed 70-76ish points. As this is supposed to be a competitive league this season, lets say 72...

That means 55 more points from 38 games.... W15 D10 L13. How does that look?

Also looking within reach as things stand, Gump

Average of last 5 seasons is only 79 (on GD) so that'd be W17 D11 L10

After 8 games last season, the top 2 in League Two were Orient and Stevenage and that's where they finished. Stevenage 1st place in L1 as it stands.
