Bruno has signed a new contract with £100m release clause

according to Fabrizo Romano, he has signed with a release clause in the £100m region.

Personally i think thats a bit low, when you look at the fee Rice Caceido and Enzo went for.

Maybe the club have someone lined up as a replacement, someone who can play in the holding role and free up Tonali

rather than Tonali and Bruno playing the same role and looking disjointed

Can’t see the club being the ones to put a clause in, that might be slightly over the average going rate for a quality midfielder in a year or two.

If anything this sounds like the player insisting on it, and that’s the reason it took so long to sort.

Very unimpressed if that turns out to be the case.

This is definitely Bruno's doing. He's lost faith in the project. I wonder what the weekly wage is?

Pivotal time for the club this. Going to be a rocky 2-3 years until things settle a little I suspect.

If yer right and he’s lost faith in the project ALREADY then he can go for me, it will all come out in the wash over the next couple of games. His performances will be interesting to say the least!

Ever since that NUFC360 account had a mild pop at him 😁. Seriously, though, it''d be a greater surprise if there wasn't a release clause.

Most players have release clauses these days though - hardly a surprise he wants one.

From what I've read it can only be activated if we're not in Europe.

His wages jump to our highest earner as well around £170K mark I think I read.

I'm pleased he's signed, I don't think he's lost faith in the project at all.

I hope you are right. It's just the recent Twitter thing, the poor performances, the lack of smiles and now a surprisingly low release clause. He's definitely leaving his options open.

Of course no one will want him if he doesn't get back to somewhere near his best.

Something juist looks wrong with Bruno, apart from the obvious issues playting too deep.

The feel good factor seems to have gone from the whole team right now. Let's hope it's just temporary.

No player is irreplaceable.. If someone meets the £100m clause and that finances 2 players that improve the first team then I'm all for it..

every single big club sells players still to finance more..

The reason Aston Villa and Brighton are doing so well is the fact they were able to sell players at large fees and strengthen..

Bruno might not even go.. but if he does for 100m then so be it.. Andy Cole was the bigger loss at 7m and we got over that one..

Yeah, I am long dome getting too attached to players especislly if they want to go. Its a business transaction for them and the club to improve their situation so it should be for us. A big club mentality.

    How fkn cold is that?

I believe we should hold onto players like Bruno. Form is temporary, class is permanent. Because of FFP it is much harder for us to sign the best players than other clubs and so we need to nurture our best players and the youngsters too.
Having said that it never works out holding a player against his wishes. Should he want to go one day, this release clause has virtually set his minimum price and by then you’d hope Dan Ashworth has unearthed a couple of gems to fill the gap he leaves.
