    Pieces of 8

Reet - what’s your 1,2 and 3 order for best goals of the 8?

    1.Wilson
    2.Gordon
    3.Botman
..is mine. MOM :Gordon or Trippier - can’t decide!!

    Damn!

    Good question toonie!

    Man that's a head scratcher.

I loved Isak's predatory finish. He read defenders back pass to perfection and mugged the other centre back right off by faking the shot as the defender slid on past, stopped and just slotted the ball home casual as you like, not quite the 'Hands on hips' goal of last season but it was a class finish and gives him that boost of confidence goal scorers need from time to time.

Miggy's was too easy straight through the middle, clinical finish mind!

Longstaff's was very important to set the tone as the Blade did start really well and the first 5 mins they looked dangerous!

2&3 were both great set piece goals & We've not been great at set pieced back end of last season or the start of this. Despite us being a Tall side we don't score the volume of set piece goals we should. So it was excellent to see up capitalise on those opportunities. Botman's was particularly sweet as it was the freekick resulting from the shocking (what I thought was a straight red card challenge). Nothing sweeter than scoring to punish your opponent for a bad foul!

Wilson's goal was class. Great ball to Tripz & a perfect ball in from the captain. Top top quality move through out!

Gordon's curler was pure Roy of the Rovers stuff and he really is loving being a Geordie did you hear him screaming YEEEEEEEEES on the replays? Quality hope he keeps on getting better and better, really rub it in the face of those Blue Nose bindippers!

My 3 best goals will are not the best goal but the most meaningful goals I guess.
1 - Bruno - New contact, new baby on the way. He mouthed the words "I'm staying" to the crowd. He's F'in Magic!
2 - Longstaff - as mentioned above, the opener, set the tone, the lad was class today. Really should be getting and England call but won't!
3 - Gordon - Best goal of the game technically, but, it's the sheer joy of the celebration that made it a top 3

MoM - Bruno. Pulled the strings, ran the show, threw in some outrageous megs and generally bossed the match in that lowkey bad man fashion that he does.

Delightful performance. Great to see Hall debut & Tino get more minutes. I suspect they will feature in the Carabao match mid week.

Tonali was solid when he came on, more time on the pitch that lad gets with the boys the better!

A very happy fella indeed am I

Great question. So many goals I'm not sure I even remember them all - but Gordon's goal for me was the best.

Agree about MOM - has to be split between the two, couldn't have gotten the result without either Trippier or Gordon.

    1) Burn

    2) Gordon

    3) Botman

Motm. Split it equally between Gordon and Trippier.

Great post, agree with every word. MOM Trippier for me, seems to drag the team up to his own level.

    I has to be Botman
Has never scored for us and his delight was so clear as well as the rest of the team

    1) Gordon - Best of the lot. The boys coming good. I said he was a player long before we signed him.
    2) Isak - the kids a surgeon.
    3) Miggy - Thats the confident controllled finishing we want to see from him.

Special mention to the defensive granite. Scorers AND a clean sheet. What did Tripps get 4 assists?

2 - Isak, the coolness in that he waiting to put the blade player on his arse
    3 - Longstaff.

Same here. Some people (including on here) should be well into the humble pie.

Just shows the improvement on even good players when handled right.

And yet players like Longstaff and Murphy still have their critics.
