    The English Media

Not saying we deserved a win last night and it was probably a fair result (or we should have snatched a draw), but am I missing something?

seeing headlines like "Newcastle dealt a reality check" and "Below Par Newcastle beaten"

they had one more shot than us, 7 more fouls and 10% less possession... now I know the possession stats mean nothing.. look at the PSG game.. however I don't think we played badly.

If Isak didn't get injured I believe he puts away the Wilson chances, I'm not too disheartened about the result.. I did say before we kicked a ball in CL when I saw the group that I would be happy with 3rd and just not get grouped with the least points..

The lads are still doing us proud, we just didn't have the rub of the green..

P.S that should also have been a penalty against Almiron.. its in the Premier League 100%

Glad you brought this up. I started several posts and deleted them. I'm just sick of the bias.

I was raging at the comments. I can guarantee that they had written that dross copy in advance of the PSG match however we destroyed them and rained on their parade. We'll have to improve on the road.

We weren't great, we hit the woodwork twice, on balance as much as I hate to admit it, I think Dortmund deserved to win. I had the feeling that if we'd player for 3 hrs we wouldn't have scored. IT was one of those nights.

What I can't understand is who let the clown with the drum into the away end? Why would anyone allow the away fans to take over? I was raging that they turned it into a Dortmund home game. The audio mix on the TV broadcasting was infuriating.

Those of us who has travelled away in Europe with Newcastle know what it's like getting into away grounds. Practically rubber glove treatment yet the idiots in security at SJP let the frigging percussion section of the Berlin Philharmonic set up camp on level 7.

This has to stop. The fans & Wor Flags deserve better.

“They have played Newcastle really well and played the crowd really well. They were such a threat on the break.

“If Newcastle are honest then I think they’ll accept they didn’t deserve anything from the game.”

Shearer’s comments appeared at odds with Eddie Howe’s post-match assessment.

Agreed with this. The woodwork, no pen for the blatant shove on Almiron when he was through and Isak's injury definitely deprived us of a result.

But that's football and it happens to all teams, that is apart from Manure and Liverpool.

We were unfortunate that it was a must win for them. They threw players forward at every break at 0-0. He who dares, wins (well, not always true for football but it worked for Dortmund).
