The mid table teams are fu(king shyte this year. The likes of Fulham, Palace Wolves, they just seem so easy to beat.

Yeah it's true. The gulf in quality is getting larger and larger.

The strength of the Premier League is that, on their day, even these teams can give the big boys a proper game.

Let's not count our chickens Phoney me old China!

Yes Palace were well beaten, we have most definitely stepped it up a level that is for sure, from last season.

We play Wolves away on Saturday. Should we put them to the sword 2 or 3 + goals to nil and come away with a comprehensive win I'll concede that we have stepped up a level but these teams are by no means F'in Shyte.

Sheffield United & Bournemouth absolutely Shyte, 1 and 3 points respectively from 9 games. A real race to the bottom for these two. They're both looking excitedly at Derby's record.

However the mid table mob assuming that 'the middle' is 1/4 of the league = 5 teams
Assuming 10th is the middle so a +/- from that center point as 8- 13 are comprised of:

    8 - Manure - 15pts
    9 - West Ham - 14pts
    10 - Chelsea - 12pts
    11 - Crystal Palace - 12pts
    12 - Wolves - 11pts

These teams are between 1 & 5 points behind us. 2 wins for any of them & 2 loses for us and all of them leap frog us.

They are playing garbage football but what it really shows is that this league is as tight and as competitive as it has ever been.

Spuds just went top +7pts from us in 5th. 2nd City & Arsenal 3rd on 21pts separated by GD alone. From them down to Palace in 11th is 9pts. 3 Wins.

Some bad injuries to any of those top teams and we could see a real fall off in terms of results.

For example. How many people on here believe Spuds will sustain this form across the whole season?

Do we see LiVARpool continuing to have the 12th man in black playing for them all season? (Probably)

Will Greg's launch their famous Christmas special range a month early this year...?

It truly throws up more questions than answers.

This is most jinx-potential-filled thread I've ever seen.

Hope we beat Wolves and Fulham now!!!

I think this just goes to prove how those teams above the mids have improved rather the the mid table teams retrograded. They too have probably improved only at a lesser pace.

My long winded post more concisely put.

Villa, Us, West Ham, Brighton spent, brought in quality players and subsequently joined the fight with the fraud 6 for the European spots.

Wolves didn't really spend or improve their squad much. Their manager walked due to lack of investment.

TBH Fulham are a complete blind spot for me they literally don't come across my radar unless they're gonna be handed a mauling from us at the upcoming weekend.

The last time I paid attention to them was when João Palhinha signed as my Portuguese mate was raving about & saying he's perfect for the Premier League as he's too physical for the Portuguese league.

Palace are Palace, don't sign many, not sell many. Decent academy. Just bob along in mid-table mediocrity with the odd flirtation of a cup run.

Another way to put it is that in my opinion our mid table prem teams would give a good game to, and probably come out better against their equivalents in other similar strength leagues, i.e. the Spanish, Italian, German and French leagues.
