For Italian I love Goodfellas on Sheffield Road. Very non descriptive looking place with a crap name but great food.

Just had a meal at Nonna’s near the Stag.
Fantastic.

Meatballs starter and Stroganoff for main.
Missus had Garlic Mushrooms with truffle and Tuscan sausage.
It’s better than Goodfellas IMHO.
Highly recommend.
Sounds nice. What are the prices like?
A 2 course and 3 course for two, worked out around £40 per head, for food.
W and also Seasons in Wickersley are great too.
Visited the new Miller and Carter restaurant on Surrey Street in Sheffield last night with family to celebrate the Daughter’s graduation 👩*🎓
Checking in, nice warm greeting. Our server Becca was polite, courteous, very friendly and always smiling.
The food was excellent as you would expect from visiting M&C. Yes it’s pricey but you get what you pay for.
We’ve visited three of the nearest M&C establishments and I would say the one on the Centretainmemt in Attercliffe is our least favourite, staff wise.
I use to use Elupos on Effingham Street for over 30+ years but it’s not the same anymore since Stefano and Nino sold it.
Not totally struck on the big W. The Gas Lamp across the road has a great menu and reasonably priced too.
Thinking of going to try Scums recommendation and see how it turns out.
Went to El Lupos last week. Very disappointed.
Went to Miller and Carter a couple of months ago. Not really impressed. Not first time I’ve done Miller and Carter. Simply overpriced.
Book Nonna’s and compare.
It is what it is but I still think the buffet at the Dynasty is really good value and they have one on a Thursday now.
The eat all you can tapas buffet at El Toro in Bawtry is worth a visit too.
Only been to Nonnas once, quite a few years ago though. Dino was there to serve my Wife and myself. Seeing as it was a lunchtime, we didn't order anything large but the food as I recall it, was very tasty. Yes, I dare say there are countless other folk that now think Elupos has gone down the pan so to speak.
Still got to do El Torro. I know quite a few folk who have been, they say keep your red side up until they come around with the best meats then it's a green all the way.
I understand that the dynasty is now £19 all you can eat. We had a large family takeaway from there recently. When we got ome with it, somr of the order was missing and couldn't be bothered to drive all the way back for it. Not a great deal to be honest for the money paid so, i suppose the open buffet is the best option to make sure you get all you want.
