    tripps trips twice

2 massive errors giving first McNeil then Doucoure a goal. Very uncharacteristic. McNeil tooks his well. Everton out of the relegation zone already.

The Cherries and Toffees are pulling away, Luton look half decent, we are goners!

I hope none of our lads cock up like Tripps did even once, never mind twice, they'd be ripped up for arse paper on here, as not fit to be playing PL football. I would also hope none of our strikers puts one over the bar from six feet out like DCL did, they'd get the same treatment. But it just shows what I keep saying, even the top defenders make mistakes and the top strikers miss sitters. I'd like to see our players given a bit more leeway, we're not going to get perfection from them, they are going to make mistakes, but it probably won't happen, I might as well howl at the moon.

I agree and very true Sinkov but I think there is a difference between Trippier's first one and our's at Wolves in particular, though I'm struggling to put finger on it. Trippier made an accidental touch of the ball which cost him possession whereas ours was more a result of policy. "We will play it out from the back no matter what". I believe there were four Wolves players around the top of the box when the ball was played by Trafford so it was not suprising that Oshea was under immediate pressure. Ours was a dumb play from the beginning but Tripper's wasn't though as you say he did make a mistake good a player as he is. Newcastle looked tired to me. Not so AV who gave MC a real going over.

Villa were impressive Tap weren't they, it's rare to see a team compete with City, never mind run them ragged. If they can keep that form up they could win the bloody thing, Leicester did it, why not Villa ?

McNeil cannot be far away from an England call-up - surely?

I do not know what defensive shape Howe had set the Toon up in but Trippier was twice isolated in the first half one on one with Son who duly skinned him on both occasions.

The gulf in class in the top end of the EPL and the EFL was epitomised by the jet-heeled Son yesterday.

Trippier must be very sore this morning after having a new arse ripped without anaesthetic on a wintry Sunday afternoon.

I promise not to shout at Vitinho anymore.

I can see why Gareth plays him left-back for England now, he can't play right-back. Don't know what the Toon fans are saying up there, one mistake playing for Burnley and the sky falls in on the msgboards, are Newcastle fans more forgiving, that's four in two games. You have to wonder about the lad, can you have a one off that happens four times in quick succession ?

To use a horse racing term, has he gone at the game ? You'd think not, a week ago I'd have said he was one of the top right-backs in the PL and you don't become a bad player overnight, but right now he's making Vitinho seem like John Angus.

Kyle Walker gave a masterclass in how to attack and defend against a very physical Luton yesterday. A word of praise too for the Greek/Aussie who switched Son to terrorise Trippier down the left wing.
