The troubling details of how they died have created widespread anguish and prompted renewed calls for a pause in the fighting to allow more hostages to be released.

The Israeli military on Saturday said three hostages mistakenly killed by Israeli troops had been shirtless, unarmed and bearing a makeshift white flag. The troubling details of how they died have created widespread anguish and prompted renewed calls for a pause in the fighting to allow more hostages to be released.

The military, which acknowledged that the killings violated its rules of engagement, announced the deaths on Friday, hours after saying it had recovered the bodies of three other Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevy, the Israeli military chief of staff, said on Saturday that the three hostages had done “everything so that we would understand” that they were harmless, including removing their shirts to show they bore no explosives.

“The shooting of the hostages was carried out contrary to the open-fire regulations,” he said. “It is forbidden to shoot at those who raise a white flag and seek to surrender.”

The mother and daughter shot dead by an Israeli sniper in the Roman Catholic Holy Family Church and later condemned by the Pope calling the Israelis terrorists-did that not violate their rules of engagement Balan? Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

If I was a Hamas fighter the very last thing I would do is try and surrender to the IDF thugs and murder squads.

You must bear in mind this is a conflict with no rules. Do you think Arab terrorist follow any rules?? I would say in engagement of any conflict its kill or be killed. Cause as much destruction as possible. In their mind 'do anything you can but kill Israelis.'
Recruiting and training adolescents has also been one of Hamas’ top priorities. In the summer of 2015, Hamas camps provided combat training to 25,000 Palestinians in Gaza. They received basic and advanced military training (including the abduction of IDF soldiers and exiting terror tunnels) as well as religious indoctrination.
Accordingly, senior Hamas officials recently emphasized the need to open new fronts against Israel in the next round of fighting and has encouraged the surrounding Arab nations to join the fighting. Hamas spokesmen have stated that during Operation Protective Edge, terrorists from the organization’s military wing already launched rockets into northern Israel from Lebanese territory, and implicitly called for the expansion of coordinated attacks for the next confrontation.

The UN’s peacekeeping force stationed in the Golan Heights on the Israeli-Syrian border that was taken hostage by the al-Nusra Front in September 2014 is an example of the nearness of the Syrian Civil War and terrorist organizations to Israeli territory. Chocolate soldiers !!!
When I was stationed on the border with Lebanon, I heard the Lebanese had stopped a UN jeep and taken their weapons !!Chocolate soldiers. Do you think these U N, 'guys' want any action ? No! they want to go back to their countries in one piece and money in their pocket!!

the IDF thugs and murder squads.

My son told me when he was serving in the army he saw three terrorist handcuffed sitting under a tree, he went to them and gave them water to drink ......''the IDF thugs and murder squads ???''

It’s widely accepted Balan that if white flag is waved the bearer is surrendering. 20,000 unharmed civilians killed by the IDF inside 6 weeks and 3 Israeli hostages murdered in cold blood suggests to most reasonable people enough is enough.
