    McCatee

One thing has crossed my mind regarding McCatee & that is that our deal with Luton over the transfer of Anderson has been structured over a number of payments over a period of time , whilst I know not everyone will agree with me but I would like us to bring him in on a permanent & maybe with the Anderson deal still going on in a fashion then could it be possible to bring McCatee in as part of our payment thus restructuring the deal to suit all parties . I fear that if we do not make a move for him other clubs might as he proving to be a useful asset , we will see .

If a Championship club want him they can blow us out of the water with the wages they can offer, let alone the fee. Luton are his parent club and can do what they wish as with Man U and Drinkwater. It could be said Luton "owe us one" as they have benefitted from Morris, Andersen, Woodrow, Berry, Brown and Bree but John McAtee is 24 and might not want to spend his prime at Barnsley on wages well below his potential earnings.

Depends on how ambitious our club is doesn't it. I'm sceptical to say the least.

If we knew what we were doing we'd have signed him from Grimsby when he was in the National League .

Certainly at the moment being as Woodrow is out with a long term injury, if they were both fit its a no brainer , Woodrow is an experienced championship striker with plenty of goals on his cv , whilst McCatee has yet to prove himself at that level so a fit Cauley would be great .

Not our problem of course, but looks like Woodrow is becoming injury prone, think this his is 3rd stint on the side lines for Luton.

For sure if our owners have any intent to progress they should be looking at a permanent deal for McAtee in this January window.

Like Eths says on a different thread the next couple of windows are key. They will clarify our destination for the next 2-3 seasons at least IMO.

I’d love to see him stay, he panics defenders, never stops and adds goals as well, brilliant for League One.

He is here as a commodity to sell. But it will most definitely not be to us.
