    It's been Official for over a week now, Vinni said at his Presser last Thursday (21st December) that, on medical advice, Lyle would not be joining up with the SA squad and would not be playing in the Nations Cup.

    Foster had been named in the preliminary squad despite South Africa being told by Burnley that he would not be available. The South Africans have now conceded he will not be travelling.

    It wasn't club v country though, Vinni said at the Presser it was nothing to do with him or BFC, it was a decision made by the medical team into whose care Lyle has been entrusted. In which case the SAFA have little choice but to accept that Foster would not be joining them.
