Ok so what do we do??

Given the shamble that is now going on this is your chance to play armchair manger! How do we set up and what players do we use in what positions to stop the rot and give us a chance of winning for goodness sake. if you you had this squad right now what's the plan?

First we need to stop conceding goals… back five with Taylor playing CB, cork as a CDM, Browhill, Cullen , Bruun Larsen as left wing back. zaraury/Coleosho Foster and Tresor. Foster should not be allowed to drift wide. He runs out of goal scoring positions all the time.
I gave this exactly a 30sec thought so it should work out well

Wait… I want Odobert in there
    Roberts is now out.
Next game set up like this

    Trafford
Bruun Larsen, AlDakhil, Taylor, O’Shea, Odobert
    Cork
    Brownhill, Cullen
    Redmond/Trevor Zaroury, Koleosho
    Foster

How I would love Ashley Barnes as a hard to play against player up top.
Throwing his weight around, upsetting their defenders a bit…

Yes Will, we are missing our Bashley's influence by winding opposition defender up. We just are not in and around the box enough to even create our own luck; a fluke goal, penalty etc.

For me I’d sort discipline for starters and go right back to basics of being a solid hard to beat team.

Robert’s is banned now but he has to start as Vitinho isn’t as good at full back - Beyer and Ekdal if I had them available and Taylor as he is

Centrally I’d play Brownhill , Cork , cullen - Amdouni and have Larson in the hole and foster up top
    Trafford

    Robert’s Ekdal Beyer Taylor

    Cork

    Amdouni cullen Brownhill

    Larson

    Foster

That’s based on what we’ve seen so far

Personally though stability would help we never have settled team

I read a book about Bill Shankly and his philosophy was to let the same eleven play every week. Only injuries affected the team sheet, loss of form never happened because he put an arm around the shoulders of a player and told him he was a world-beater and he would be even greater tomorrow.

I have no idea what the team will be on Saturday and sadly I do not believe VK does either.

So for guidance I'm telling Vinny to start with a 4-1-2-3.
Muric, (Trafford will be ruined if we carry on like this).
Larsen (Roberts is suspended and Bruun has the physicality needed to compete), Al-Dakhil, Beyer (Hopefully now fit), Taylor,
    Cork,
    Cullen, Brownhill,
    Amdouni, Foster, Zaroury.
    And let the dice roll...

BT I think you are right with the selection. I think Cork could do a great job in front of the CB's only. No big running around just mop up the trouble and pass forward when and where possible.

Glad someone can agree with the voice of reason D_d. Corky has been there and done it for 15 seasons.

I said put him in Bt but I wouldn’t like to think we are relying on him permanently he’s a good player but also has zero pace and unfortunately the modern game is built around that - which kind of rules him out in my book.

As a stop gap I’d go for because we need an older steadier head I think at the minute.

I know many are on VK case at the minute but I guess if you get all your ducks in a row 1st time of asking it would be unusual at this level of football unless you have a bottomless pit of money available.

I’m not entirely sure he’s got it that wrong - a centre back - centre mid and we’d be a different proposition if they were better quality.

None of us had any faith in Berge at that time (only two months ago)
Vitinho is first choice now at rb O’Shea and Bayer as cb, and Taylor we all agreed was in the team but I had him as a third cb.
We all wanted Cork, but no one wanted Berge. Our midfield is OK now for me as Cullen has been benched and Berge/Brownhill are first choice. Our wingers have been changed a lot but Odobert and Bruun Larsen seems to be favoured at the moment. Amdouni was not in my team but you both had him. JRod on top was no one’s first choice but because of health issues Foster has been absent. Good to see him taking his place back a bit now though. We need him!
