Romared Match Thoughts Bolton Wanderers v Barnsley

Well what usually happens when we are babysitting the grandkids on a Saturday is I drop the wife off and go back to watch the match at home on ifollow and join her after the match ends .

I'm going straight to the daughter's and not buggering about , a full 10 hour shift .

Read in to that what you will where I am watching this club even from the comfort of my armchair .

A key game in the season.

i have to admit i am not confident about this game.

If we get a draw or even a win I shall be pleasantly surprised.

I take it you’re not interested in watching our new superstars in action then pal?

    Underwhelming isn’t it?

Otherwise known as the Replacements to Replace The Replacements Ethel .

Monty Python would create a good sketch out of it .

It would be laughable if it wasn’t so serious to us!!

Don’t forget the replacements have almost singularily been sent elsewhere as they aren’t deemed to be at the standard we now need.

    Who sanctions this pantomime?

Will this game be like Christmas with managers wanting to show off their shiny new signings now the windows closed, or will they stick with the tried and trusted? We’ve made four new signings at Wanderers, two wingbacks, a centre half and up front Aaron Collins from The Gas. In fairness some of those signings were due to our injury problems in defence where we’ve been badly stretched, missing four central defenders. Surprisingly two of them are now fit with only Santos out injured and Jones still away playing for Australia so will Evatt pick the new boys or continue with the old who are doing well? We’ll miss Santos obviously and also George Thomason in midfield out suspended but with what’s left we should still be able to put out a really strong starting eleven. On the downside, Charles has hit a barren patch guilty of missing absolute sitters, and I do mean sitters, in our last 3 games so his confidence seems to be low and Adeboyejo isn’t prolific so it will be interesting to see if Evatt starts Collins instead of one of them? I doubt it though he will feature at some point.

Whatever, you’ll be a tough nut to crack, especially with young Luca back in midfield and Devante knocking them in for you up top. For me this will be undoubtedly our hardest game of the season so far so anyone who comes out with 3 points will have worked hard and deserved it. Naturally it’s more of a must win, or at least not lose game for you than it probably is for us but a win for Wanderers will open up quite a significant gap, especially with a game in hand. I would imagine Earl will start for you but are there any other likely changes or will you stick with a pretty settled side? Hard to call this one, two pretty evenly matched sides so I suppose it’s going to be close and one goal could settle it. Let’s just hope it’s a good game, not spoiled by officials and if either wins they’ve played well and deserved it?

There has to be a big reaction after the Exeter performance. Laik like we did at Oxford and we might get a result at Bolton. We shall have to wait and see.

We’ve clearly been much better away from home this season but this will be a tough test at the tough sheet stadium.

    Would take a point.

I think you’re selling yourself short animal. You have a terrific away record and players who can cause serious damage for you and Connell being back and fit must be a terrific advantage. Although I have to say we’ve at times been terrific this year we’ve also come unstuck when teams have pressed us, which is what I expect you to do so despite what you say, this one I’m nervous about.
