    📝 Josh Martin Signs

I've just seem on Instagram that we have signed Josh Martin on a short term contract to support our attacking options. I don't know much about him, but it makes me wonder if Jatta has a serious problem. I know from my time watching Wasps, recurring concussion was often career ending. Obviously rugby is much higher risk, but I don't think it bodes well tat we will see him for a good while yet.

I don't know anything about Martin, but welcome to the Lane and I hope your stay with us is successful.

It's obviously to cover Jones. The fact they haven't said anything and now signed someone implies it's not going to be good news about JJ.

Yeah. Seems to me like Jones will be out until next year. Martin is a direct replacements. I hope to see Jatta back in a few weeks.

    From our site:

Director Richard Montague said: “Right up to the end of the transfer window we were interested in adding another attacking option to the squad and, following the long-term injury to Curtis Edwards and with Jodi Jones continuing to be assessed, we felt it was important to take action.

It would seem that it is for Jones then, which isn't great news obviously, but hopefully better outlook for Jatta.

Josh Martin is a talented winger known for his pace and creativity. He has a decent technical ability, allowing him to be effective in one-on-one situations, often operating as a left-winger. His key strength lies in his ability to take on defenders and deliver accurate crosses or cut inside to shoot.

Martin began his professional career at Norwich City, where he made 16 appearances and scored once. He also gained experience through loan spells at clubs like MK Dons and Barnsley in League One and the Championship. Despite his technical abilities, Martin has struggled with consistency and regular game time, which has slowed his development somewhat. However, his time at Portsmouth showed promise, and he performed well enough to be considered for the first team, even outshining some more high-profile signings

In summary, while he may not yet be a top-tier player, Martin's potential is clear, and with more game time and confidence, he could evolve into a reliable winger in League One or higher.

When we submitted our squad list to the EFL was it not full, or has allowing Stone to go out on loan freed up the space in the squad to bring this lad in?

Keepers aren't counted, I'm assuming Edwards was withdrawn as long term injured
