    Carabao Cup Changes

The Carabao Cup will use a seeding system next season that will see the 'big' teams avoid each other early in the competition.

With the extended Champions League format coming into play next season, the Carabao Cup has been forced to make changes to avoid fixture congestion.

A seeding system will be implemented that will see teams playing in Europe avoid each other in the early rounds, according to The Telegraph.

Rankings will be brought in that will ensure that teams in the Champions League do not draw others in the competition, as well as any other side in the Europa League.

The third round of the Carabao Cup will also be spread over two weeks to help fixture congestion, as well.

    Thoughts?

Seems again to make things easier for the "big" clubs.

Man City drawing LiVARpool in 3rd round is brilliant for the smaller club and makes the competition more competitive.

It also means as we're not in Europe we'll be very likely to draw one of them earlier.

It absolutely stinks of the Cartel 6

Smaller clubs have a hard enough time as it is and it's always great to see 2 'big' clubs drawn together early on because it means one of them goes out and everybody else's chances increase a little.

Nowt to do with anything other than protecting the Cartel.

Absolute bollox of an idea. Favours the clubs in Europe who can now plan ahead to put out weak teams in the early rounds.

Remove all seeding immediately - all teams should be able to draw each other from round to round.

As all so-called “big teams” are likely to make it to QF, another round of “too many games” crying is incoming.

Come on, draw all CL teams against each other from round one, then they will have a nicer fixture

If big teams face each other in earlier rounds, one will go out making it easier for them in Europe with less games.

Think we all agree with this Hugh.
