Time to get the finger out

We got 28 days left to the season kicks off, and our squad is even thinner than last season.

I'm not a big fan of this late in the wondow tactics... really surprised we havent done more in the market by now.

I'm still quite relaxed, Viking. Aye, I agree, the earlier we get players in, the more time they have to gel with the team in pre-season.

I guess the issue-for everyone -is that most players are relatively happy at their current club and, whilst they are open to moves, need something to tip the balance. That could be a combination of which club-or clubs- wants them, size of salary, signing on fees, etc, etc. Reaching that tipping point takes time.

I know you know all this-if anything, I think I'm explaining it to myself.

You've also got the fact we've had two major tournements on two continents with all the best players (pretty much) involved and they tend to be the ones that are moved around to cascade down to other transfers.

I'm also fairly relaxed about it as well at the minute.

I think with Kelly coming in, and Tonali and Willock available (or available very soon) that we’re not massively weaker, if at all.

Bunce is a massive step in the right direction to make sure we keep the playing squad as available as possible, injuries will happen that can’t be prevented, mostly to Wilson unfortunately, but we should already be in a stronger position to tackle the season… especially without the additional games in Europe.

I’ve got no doubt at all that we’ll bring in another 3 or 4 first team players to improve the overall squad, a right winger, a centre half, and a striker, as the minimum business we do.
