I used to bloody love Terry-Thomas in those 50’s and 60’s films like School for Scoundrels as he always played the bounder and rotter to perfection,Basil Brush was based on him which made him one of my favourite puppets of all time and still makes me laugh to this day

    Hard cheese!

Apparently some other big clubs (like Notts County) were also in for him.

Having conceded 86 goals last season Notts County seem to be working hard to strengthen their defence. Already signed 2 central defenders (Matty Platt and Jacob Bedeau) before trying to get Thomas.

Plenty of 0-0's for you next season then Chalky?

I can’t read what it says as I’m not on X nor want to be but we have shifted some deadwood in our defence and replaced them with other players, this should have been done after we got promoted from the NL and cost us last season,we have a decent attacking front so I’m expecting more 1-0’s or 2-0’s rather than no score draws,I wonder what the deal was that Carlisle offered that Notts couldn’t better?

Usually when a palyer prefers Carlisle to a southern club it is either the appeal of Cumberland sausage or the chance to see red squirrels in the wild.

You can buy Cumberland sausages from our local butcher and as the year rolls along without the sighting of a red squirrel he’s gonna realise his mistake
