Just seen the BBC East Midlands news and I didn't realise Ed Davey the Liberal leader was from Nottinghamshire and is a Notts County fan.

I quite like Ed Davey. He had a very tough upbringing and has a severely disabled son to look after, so at least he's one of those politicians who has faced genuine adversity rather than have it handed to them on a plate.

I would however question his 'Notts fan' credentials. Is it like Sunak being a Southampton fan? I would ask both how many games they have attended and how many current players they could name. Their busy lifestyles could excuse them attending games, but surely any proper fan could name a few players. And the thought of Sunak being a Saint has caused me a change of incontinence pants.
