    Wrexham

How come they don't have midweek games?
All nicely rested up for the weekend again

Well it’s worked for us as they’ve rested 4 or 5 players

So Birmingham City made a request to the EFL to play their home fixture v Wrexham in the United States. It was turned down, but seems we are inching further and further towards English games being played abroad. Didn't expect Birmingham City though to be the club to make the first move.... and a L1 fixture to boot.

FFP rules also seem to be under threat and the expansion of both the Champions League and the FIFA World Club tournament is going to heap pressure on the PL to reduce numbers (cup replays being dropped is likely to be only the start of a process, not a solution), which would be problematic for leagues below now that they're all 24 deep.

Unbelievable that they even tried. If that request were accepted, it would set a precedent that would essentially be the end of club football as we know it. **** like this simply cannot be allowed to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me if more teams push for it. Most of Wrexham's fans are over in the US and have never seen them play, and I'm sure their owners would love to take them on tour if it weren't for the bad PR they'd receive.

Both have American owners. So not surprised this was tried. Tom Brady would pull in 1000s on a gate if the game had been played in New England or Tampa… Ryan Reynolds the same, anywhere in USA. They would probably get more of an attendance in the US than they will in Birmingham

Apparently it wasn't anyone to do with either club that requested it. Which in my mind makes it even worse having outside interference

Nothing to do with us as confirmed by Ryan Reynolds on X.

We have already been on tour last pre season and are going again in a couple of weeks. So lots have seen us play already.
So yeah they do love taking us on tour and I bet they love even more the reported 8 million quid the club gets for going.
