Need to Rant - England Thread

Oh my days - how to kill your love for the beautiful game. And celebrating when we score against a National League 2 South standard team (lower half of the table) like we are world champions.... How can it be so dull, so undeserved and so painful that we have to endure another game....

Absolutely agree. I would much rather us play with heart ,soul, guile , guts and skill and go out, rather than go through watching this utterly soulless uninspiring bunch of prem prima donna's led the most arrogant boring and beige manager of all time!

They remind me so much of Nottingham Forest - arrogant media deluding everyone that they're better than what they are and a horrible section of fans that simply make it impossible for me to support them and several of their players are divers, the stuff they ridicule foreigners for.

Gawd help us Saturday. Will he make changes or still be stubborn? Did he get booed again by fans in one stand when clapping them?

There was a time when younger, I was excited about every England game including friendlies & wouldn't miss them for all the tea in China. Now to be honest for the last few years I've missed games because I wasn't bothered & in some instances didn't even know they were actually playing. Never thought I'd be like this. It's hard work making the effort. Sad times

Strange game with some strange performances.

Pickford is comfortable with the ball at his feet but his long passing (the norm) is generally woeful
Stone and Trippier were awful all the time they were on, Walker is a decent defender but a terrible 'footballer', Guehi did rather well, including avoiding getting sent off for their goal
Rice was awful until we went five at the back from which point he was excellent. Mainoo did well but tired in the 2nd half.
Saka was a threat when he got the ball playing on the right but didn't see enough of it. Really good as a wing back but he's done that for Arsenal so not surprised.
Foden, sometimes good sometimes terrible. Suffering from not playing in his best position.
Bellingham - once he stopped playing the big I am and arguing with the ref over what were clear fouls, he was very good.
Kane - very poor (imho) but you just knew he'd take that chance very well. He needs to get out of the way of talented midfielder.
Eze did well as wing back and Palmer is such a lovely player to watch.
Toney added beef and I thought did well
With Saka and Palmer you know you are going to get heads up football which gives them the edge on Gordon.

Southgate - oh dear. What does Steve Holland actually do or bring other than possibly as a "Yes boss" Steve McLaren type nodding dog.

And a final word for the ref who was absolutely hopeless but wouldn't have been the reason we failed had we done so.

There is a drawback to winning this game, and that it is Southgate thinking he had the right tactics all along.

I don't think he will ever be persuaded that he ever had 'not the right' tactics.

…and the referee thinking he knows what he’s doing.

My main disappointment when we looked like going out was that The Nest would lose a lot of revenue.
