Wonderful to see, especially after he was written off so many times in recent years. It looked like his last chance might have been gone after his crash last year but today was classic Cav, rolling back the clock. Hopefully it’s not his last win on this Tour.

His chain actually skipped and came off the big chain ring as he came over the line.
Big mechanical problem and loss of power so if it had happened 10m earlier it would have been a different outcome

Very lucky with that but it Might have been self inflicted if he back-pedalled

The ultimate competitor by a country mile! If his mind set was applied to the England squad we'd have no issues on Saturday!

Just watched it and it send shivers down my spine even knowing what the outcome was. Looked close from head on but aerial view just showed how he powered away over the last 100m. Nice to see the camaraderie between not only MC and his teammates but everyone else in the race.

To put this achievement into context, the current leader of this years Tour de France was only 9 years old when Cav won his first stage win .

He,s not stopping now either, only another 2500kms to the finish line in Nice
Got a chance of winning tomorrow,s sprint stage too

Really enjoyed the win for him. It’s certainly not gone unnoticed here. People are in the main genuinely pleased for him

I am a big fan of Cav and so delighted for him. Can he win another stage?

On the subject of sporting achievements I just watched a woman break the World Hot Dog Eating record with 51 in 10 minutes. The commentator said he was 'tearing up' at witnessing this event
