    “It’s a brilliant foul”

Just one thing wrong with the game. How can cheating be brilliant? What is that teaching the kids?

Dreadful commentary, again, especially the idiot doing the in-match comments. I certainly will not be listening to the planks trying to dissect the match and tell us what we have just seen.

I'm not sure its cheating, its just a cynical part of the game.

If a team countered on us and we were outnumbered, I'd be screaming at someone to take the player with the ball out. Better a player gets a yellow than concede a goal.

I tend to watch these matches with the sound muted. I am looking at something else but look up regularly (I don’t do this for the England games). When something interesting appears to have happened I just pause and rewind a little. It can be quite plesant without the sometimes irritating commentary. One thing I noticed last night, and which has been a been a bee in my bonnet for some time, are the antics at corner kicks. To me the shirt pulling, pushing and general obstruction seemed worse than ever. I do wish something would be done about it. I watched that excellent Spanish goal in silence. It was only after the game that I found out he was 16. 16!!! Mind you I recall Bobby Hope making his debut at that age. It is the old adage, if they good enough they are old enough.
